This paper presents the results from the two visits to the selected historical centers: Oaxaca, Oaxaca; and Villahermosa, Tabasco. The objective was to know the pedestrianisation strategies followed of in each case. Interviews with corresponding authorities, a fathoming with involved agents (passers-by and proprietors of businesses in the pedestrian zone) and a direct survey through the zones of study were made. Among the most significant findings, there is the importance that has a suitable planning (where most of the affected agents are involved) for the success of the process of getting a pedestrian zone; as well as the design of a regulation that delimits clearly the roles of every agent in the pedestrian zone.
